August 2022

Dear RMH Heroes,

We are excited to share important information about the future of RMH of Chapel Hill and RMH of Durham & Wake.

With the strongly held belief that, by joining forces, our organizations can have an even greater impact on
children’s health, our boards have been working toward a merger for the past 15 months.

We have reached a significant step in this process.

It is our pleasure to announce Oie Osterkamp as the Chief Executive Officer who will lead our united future. Oie was selected by unanimous vote of both boards after a nationwide search conducted by moss+ross. We feel blessed that the best candidate is one who already has a deep understanding of and strong connection with our charity, our local community, and Ronald McDonald House Charities Global.

For the past 10 years, Oie has served as Executive Director of Ronald McDonald House of Durham & Wake. He joined RMH in 2012 as the organization expanded to double its capacity with the intention of meeting the need of patients and their families in Durham, Raleigh, and the surrounding communities. Oie’s extensive leadership with local, regional, and global RMHC, his track record of program growth, and his strong relationship in the community make him the ideal candidate for this new Triangle-wide position.

Please join us in welcoming Oie into this new role as the leader who will help us navigate the merger and growth of our mission. A public announcement will be made in early September when his new role begins.

We will keep you updated as the merger progresses and as the vision of Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Triangle becomes a reality.

Thank you for your partnership in this extraordinary mission!

Jim Goodwin

Board President, RMH of Chapel Hill

Tom Cavender
